Equine Health Science is not a faceless Multi-National corporation. It is a sport horse focused service run by real horse people with a lifetimes experience in the industry.
 Founder and Managing Director, Seumas Marwood, has been competing up to 4 Star level in eventing for over 30 years. As a young rider he had a long and successful association with Pony Club, including being a member of the Australian Inter-Pacific team to Canada in 1981. Over the years Seumas has had three horses on senior Australian squads and still competes actively in showjumping and one, two & three day eventing.
 Seumas was the Riders Representative on the National Eventing Committee of Equestrian Australia from 1997 until 2004. From 2004 until 2008 he was an Olympic Selector for eventing and is currently the Chairman of Selectors for eventing. 4 Years ago Seumas gained his TB Trainers Licence to gain a better appreciation of the racing industry and trained a winner with his 2nd start.

 Dani Marwood has also made horses her life. She has evented, show jumped and competed in dressage since childhood and is an experienced stud manager and qualified AI Technician.
 Dani's best performances to date include 2nd place at the Naracoorte Three Day Event and 5th at Melbourne Three Day Event.

Both Seumas and Dani have shared the frustrations of many riders who know their horses could benefit from certain supplements but the high cost of many of these simply put them beyond reach. They used their knowledge of what performance horses really need and what riders and trainers really want to bring products like Shark Net, Hush and Complete Hoof & Coat Care.

 In 2001, showing the symptoms of the onset of osteoarthritis in the hands, wrists and elbows caused by the wear and tear of years of riding, Seumas started using human oral glycosaminoglycans (Glucosamine & Chondroitin Sulphate). He experienced and has since maintained a rapid return to normal and so started to investigate the usefulness of similar products on horses. After two years research he came up with an early formula for Shark Net and began trials on their own competition horses and many other showjumping and eventing horses. After another two years of further research and development and the input of leading industry vets, the formula was further concentrated and enhanced with the inclusion of MSM and the long and arduous process of gaining APVMA registration began.

 The primary focus through all this was to provide the highest possible quality joint supplement at a price that all horse owners could afford. Our hope was that this would allow many more horses to get the benefit of premium joint care and so improve not only their performance, but their general well being too. There are a multitude of vitamin, mineral and electrolyte supplements already available and in many cases our horse’s needs are adequately met with a decent quality diet. However the glycosaminoglycans used in Shark Net are not available to the horse through normal pasture or hard feeding and must be supplemented.

 Having established Shark Net Joint Powder Concentrate, we looked to fill other needs of performance horses that were not currently met at an affordable level. We have just completed 3 year public trials of two specialist products. The first of these is Hush, a calming supplement high in Mangnesium, B Vitamins and the essential amino acid Tryptophan. Hush is used as a training and management aid for horses exhibiting excitable or irrational behaviour or during periods of mental stress. It is useful for breaking, training and transport of horses. The second is Complete Hoof & Coat Care. As the name suggests this is a comprehensive blend of all the essential requirements for healthy hoof growth. Like Shark Net, both Hush and Hoof & Coat Care are the result of extensive research and have been priced significantly lower than any other comparable product.
